Here’s to 2010!

by Ben on January 6, 2010

I am in the process of evaluating how things went at #CruTru09, and I would love some feedback so that in a year we can continue to build on what happened online for encounter 09! In the comments below (or via email if that’s how you’d prefer to roll) drop me a lne with an answer to the following three(ish) questions:

What went well in the online experience?

What parts of the online experience would you like to see improved?

If money, time, and people to work on it were not an issue, how would you envision the website for encounter 2010 being used?  What are ways we could encourage maximum spiritual impact via the internet next year?

This website uses IntenseDebate comments, but they are not currently loaded because either your browser doesn't support JavaScript, or they didn't load fast enough.

Went well; the Twitter and Blog during the Conference went well, there was followers that stayed connected during and some that even contributed

Improved; the pre-Encounter hype. would love to see each campus to promote Encounter via the internet (Twitter, Blogs, Videos, Testimonies, etc) so that we could all share the experiences and stories of Encounter.

Vision; would love Encounter to be a total online experience (every talk, every activity) and reference. so that people not there can experience it as well as it be used as a reference tool for reflection later

I think that overall this was an awesome experience. I never thought much of Twitter, but Encounter helped change that, along with the blog.

If anything could be improved, I think it would be good to let people know ahead of time about the online experience, as I only found out about it on the next to last day of Encounter.

Ways I could see the site being a more integral part of Encounter 2010 would include:

- set it up to have the different break out sessions in a list so that if there is one that someone wants to see live, they can just click on the link (but also archive the videos for all to see them)
– if there are any noteworthy activities, have someone there with a webcam to record them live.
– have a virtual version of the prayer journey
– when the students come in for each meeting, and especially for New Year's Eve, have the sound on so you can here all that is going on.

Just a few crazy ideas, don't know what is possible.

This was one of the best things I've been a part of, and it was a blessing that technology was/is being used for good for once.
